Curriculum

The course aims to cover the essential areas of film history, giving participants an overview of some aesthetic moments, representations and traditions for the development of cinema throughout the 20th century. The structure of the sessions emphasizes the consolidation of a wide perspective on the transformations that the film has undergone, in order to enable participants to have access to an analytical discourse on the evolution of cinematic language and its forms.

The course also offers a vocabulary of critical terms and essential aesthetics in the deconstruction of the audiovisual language, as well as the meanings and nuances it carries through expressive use of the resources inherent in any film (installation, room movements, sound, illumination etc.).
